THE PARK BOTANICACTUS
One of my greatest sources of inspiration on Mallorca at the moment is the cactus garden "BOTANICACTUS" near Ses Salines in the south-east of Mallorca. There are over 400 species of plants and 1,000 species of cacti on the grounds. On 50.000 m² of the area there is a collection of Mallorcan flora such as olive, pomegranate, almond, pine, cypress, orange, carob and eucalyptus trees. The park is privately organised and has now reopened after about 2 years of closure due to corona.
My highlight are definitely the KAKTEEN! They are perfect sculptures for me, some of them growing metres high into the sky, and each one is one of my biggest sources of inspiration for my current subject in art. I'll certainly be back there soon - with sketchbook and camera - to continue recording my impressions. To be seen in upcoming works on canvas, paper and as sculpture. Stay curious and excited!
