Small formats

Since moving to the smaller studio in Hamburg Bahrenfeld, I have been working more on paintings in smaller formats over the last few months. In contrast to my usual practice where I sometimes use canvases that are twice as large, especially for dipthychon formats (dipthychon = two canvases for one motif).

Working on smaller formats is a challenge for me, but gives me just as much pleasure as working on a large canvas. In the meantime, I have created over 25 new works, a selection of which can be found under the heading "Painting 2023".
